Battling the hills in Deep Cove: March 27, 2010
This morning's run started early for me today. Overcast skies filled my North Vancouver skyline as I dropped out of bed at 5:23am. Naturally, my Icebreakers attire encompassed my body and the sixth consecutive day wearing this jogging set with no stench to report. After a quick bite, I was out the door towards the Deep Cove direction. Once I reached my destination, I stretched out, took a drink of my chilled electrolyte water and double knotted my shoes. My legs carried me up the steep set of wooden stairs that eventually led me to the dark, musky trail that was the Baden Powell. After running for 45 minutes and approximately 7 kilometers through the dampened forest, I had reached my destination: Quarry Rock. The picture above shows me sitting on top of the highest peak of the rock. I had conquered Day 6 of my Icebreakers run and I was feeling great. I ran back to the car, finished up my stretching and made it home to see the sun rise and the wife and dog too.
